As we get older, the natural collagen production and elastin in our skin depletes. This makes the skin lose its elasticity and become dry, forming wrinkles or rhytides. Aging, environmental exposure, dehydration, toxins can all cause wrinkles.

Some of the common kinds you may see are forehead lines, worry lines, bunnies, crow’s feet, lip lines, laugh lines and marionette lines.

WHAT CAUSES WRINKLES?

DYNAMIC EXPRESSION LINES
Grooves that form on the skin due to repeated muscle contractions from facial expressions, and are found near the forehead, eyes, and mouth.
ELASTIC CREASES
Characterized by small creases near the neck, upper lip and cheeks, these are caused by sun exposure and smoking, and are more visible on pale skin.
ATROPHIC CRINKLING RHYTIDS
Lines that form due to skin sagging from the loss of collagen and elastin, these appear as an ‘11’ between the brows.
GRAVITATIONAL FOLDS
Folds that are more apparent on lean faces with thin skin, these show up on the neck, chin, and jowl, as the skin naturally ages, loses structure and sags.
